Lukas Skinner and the Red Bull team at Kelly Slater's Surf Ranch

Lukas approached me to edit some footage shot by his sponsors, though he wasn’t entirely sure what direction he wanted to take with it. Knowing his goal was to increase his presence on YouTube, I suggested shaping the footage into a narrative-driven production. One notable aspect of Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch is that it’s both physically and financially inaccessible to most people, particularly in Europe. This led me to propose a video centered around Lukas’s experience surfing the wave. I structured the video in three parts: a fast-paced, engaging intro to hook viewers, followed by a segment where Lukas shares his experience, and concluding with a showcase of his incredible talent.

The video was extremely well-received, with the accompanying Instagram clip amassing 159,000 views to date.
